Rocking the Shades in SoCAL - Nine

During the car ride there, Mac tells the story about George sleeping and mumbling stuff like "huh? oh!" in his sleep in between snores. It is quite evident that this nrb place is japanese run, from the writings on the window to the japanese workers inside. Since we have enough people for a medium room, we had a to wait a few minutes since there's some tightwad owner (i think). Felix and I observed his punkness as the owner tried to regulate on a little 5 year old kid bringing in his boba and eventually charged the kid's young mom an outlandish $2 to bring in their Burger King meal and boba's into the room. Cheap tardo mang.

In the meantime, I got a japanese song book and began scouring through it with Reod looking for Minimoni/Morning Musume and other various j-pop songs we'd partially know but prolly couldn't quite sing fully yet. Karaoke was the best! We got into the room, dimmed the lights and started filling out the queues. Anna and Marge put in Britney's "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" for me, and naturally I embarrassed myself to no end. The list of performances go on, including Anna doing a super rendition of booty shaking I Will Survive, Fling doing Shakira's Underneath Your Clothes in falsetto, George doing a crazy Bohemian Rhapsody, Marge performing her legendary ballad of "Shape of My Heart" (which she will one day share us the vid of), Mac and I dueting to This I Promise You, Mac and Marge bringing back the oldies with Summer Nights, Pres surprising us all by belting out a few boy band ballads, Tim doing the Pets.com song of "If You Leave Me Now", Johnny trying to do Lemon Tree but finding out it was not the Fools Garden version, Marge doing Jimmy Eats World - The Middle (which I remember her singing along with the radio while we were in the car), George doing Yellow Submarine, having a ball of a time doing the Sinead O'Conner classic, and even throwing in a little Rick James - Superfreak action, and along the way I gave George a partial lapdance during Drive Me Crazy. One really tacky part of the club was the workers coming in to interrupt our fun to tell us that our initial hour had run out but Fling (thanks man!) hooked up another hour... man we owe him a lot. we took a fob pic while in the room too, and of course George displayed his traditional bird.

On our way out, we were the last ones in the establishment, we take another group pic outside but the stupid guy that took it for us focused on the sign above instead of us and the pic came out blurry. From here we part ways with Johnny and head back to Fling's house.
