Rocking the Shades in SoCAL - Two

Thursday, July 4th

We hook up with Anna, Fling's ex-gf from a few years back, and head on over to In & Out. This was by far the nicest In & Out that I have been to, as there's a skylight window as well as a nice centerpiece area with flowers and stuff. Apparently the lines do get so long that there are even theatre-style ropes ready to worm-weave the ensuing crowd. Marge and I had ordered first and we went to grab some seats along the window but after a minute or two, we noticed that everyone else is sitting at another group of tables. Some asianess ensues as there we all debate on where we should sit, until finally some little homez moves out of the way and we get our big group of tables together. In the middle of dining, my sister calls and I tell her to hurry up and get ready so she could meet up with us. Even the scenery at this one was nice, lots of pretty gals and your typical spikey haired guys.

As we finish lunch, my sister says she's on her way out, so we all mosey over to Cha for Tea to wait for her. Lo and behold, as soon as we get in, there are two girls waiting in line! They both were sporting bareback tops, one had a tattoo in chinese on her shoulder that read "hope". I had been here once before as my sister had brought me here two years ago. Well I order some boba and we all head on outside to sit and wait. The weather was really nice I must admit, sunny and cool, not hot and humid like I had anticipated. There was one chick that went into the shop with her two guy friends and she was sporting some crazy tater totter action. Felix immediately brought this to our attention and I moseyed inside for a closer look. Heh. Finally my sister shows up, and she orders something while I show her my new fob sunglasses and like my mom, she declares them to be pink when it is VERY evident that they are purple! Anyways, I head off to the bathroom and on my way back I see Mac and my sister laughing and pointing at me. Terrific. Anyways, there are two cute girls that were wearing kdiphi sweatshirts walking into Cha and I ask my sister if she knows them and naturally she gives me this "as if" look. hehe. We walk back into the parking lot, upon which a conversation ensues about the possibility of jumping a long shrub. After some debate, Mac decides not to do it for fear of busting up his foot on the first day. I decide not to try it out of the logistics that I didn't think I could make it fully across. On a side note, my sister gave me a karate hamster that sings the kung-fu fighting song. Thanks Hannie!

Next stop after dropping off Anna at her house with the big potted plants out in front is the local Rite Aid. Felix was determined to pick up some dessert there as our contribution to the bbq we were going to attend in SD. What a funny guy. As I was scoping out the alcohol for contribution, two of Felix's friends, Sharon and Jen Shen (cool sounding names huh), show up at the store. At the same time, Marge says that she doesn't think the bbq crew will appreciate the alcohol, as it was only then that it was revealed that it was going to be her "church youth group" posse. As I'm talking with Jen, I learn that she went to Cal and we knew a bunch of similar people since she knew some frat folks like Andy. Sharon is classmates with Felix out at Northwestern. Mac buys the only thing, a red bull. As Mac is making his purchase, Johnny aka Silverback shows up. I hadn't seen him since the Vegas trip from over a year and a half ago.

Heading on outside, we split up into three cars with Felix, Mac, and Sharon driving. The car ride up was pretty fun, Fling has a bunch of rap mix cds, hella classic. Looking into Mac's car, I saw Foobie fast asleep, must've been some mad excitement there. As we hit SD, we first stop off at Marge's apt, where in front of us Mac pulls a u-turn cause apparently he got jacked out of the parking spot haha. Marge's apt is nice, it's like an off campus housing, futon in the living room, cable-less tv tho (blessing in disguise). Her roommate's a mexican gal named Jenny and they had just gotten a new roommate, Monique, whom Marge made an interesting initial observation that Monique was standing in the closet for an extended period of time for no apparent reason. We sit around and chat for a bit as people take turns using the bathroom. I chatted with Jen and she asked if I attended "Dinner club" events and i asked if it was similar to "Drink Club"... heh, I never heard someone refer to it as Dinner Club before. Anyways, seemed like she had been to a good number of parties out in SF too.

We pack back into the car, this time with two flat footballs and stop off at the local Albertson's to pick up some desserts, since none was attained at Rite Aid. Oh yes, while Felix was parking (he doesn't currently have car insurance), we pulled into a spot next to a minivan with two white hicks in it, Fling turns off the engine and I open my passenger door, only to realize the car is still rolling! I look down, see the gear in "D"rive still and bring Felix's attention to this matter which he quickly remedies. The hicks were giggling as we walked out haha. Marge and Jen pick out some cinnamon rolls and a chocolate cake or something, i think, us guys look around unsuccessfully for a needle to pump up the football with, but Felix and I do spot out two hot hunnies. Meow !
