Rocking the Shades in SoCAL - Four

We make it back to Marge's place, (this time Philip gets the carport parking spot and we get the street spot), Monique, their new roommate had returned. She was making some remark how she had brought nothing with her, no desk, blankets, etc. Interesting. Felix goes over to the computer to download the pics he had taken that afternoon, including the infamous Marge 'tackling' her friend in quite the non pg-13 rated pose. As everyone else is chilling and watching some tv with NBC broadcasting some July 4th shows, I see Monique all bored so I strike up some conversation with her, learning that she's 27 (looks a lot younger), works at Jenny Craig, had just moved out Hawaii after living in Iowa, and had a bunch of ex-bf issues. The conversation comes to a screeching stop when Britney comes out to perform and I leapfrog my way into the front and center seat to commence staring. Marge was nice enough to sit down in front too and accompany my viewing. After 3 minutes of ecstasy, we are briefly amused by Mac playing with the kitty via some fluffer toy.

We hang out until about 10:30, up until which Marge had been trying very hard to find us somewhere to eat but being July 4th, tons of places were closed. Fortunately, right next to the Albertson's, the Coco's was still open, as it was about 10:45 and they closed at 11 pm... perfect! Right after we ordered, I remember getting a call from Mod and I went outside to answer, only to realize upon the door closing that it was past 11 pm and thus the door was locked. Wonderful. Even this old grumpy guy tried to open the door and started swearing cause it was 11:02 pm and the door was locked. Fortunately I was able to catch Foobie's attention from the outside window and spared myself any further embarrassment. Our weird whiteboy waiter had made this small fuss about how he was terrific at remembering drink orders and didn't have to write it down, and humorously enough, the only drink he seemed to get right was Foobie's hot tea. Coke drinkers got root beer, and vice versa, and someone even got a sprite. During this dinner, the best topic covered was Marge bringing up how she didn't consider us solely as "weird internet people anymore". Thanks Marge!

Around midnight, we left Coco's. I jumped into Mac's car with him, Tim, Marge, and Foobie driving, since Fling had to take Johnny to get his car. There's some mad karaoke sessions going down in the party Civic with mac playing DJ with his mix cds. After a quick stop at a gas station, Foobie questions whether he should turn onto 405 South, and Marge emphatically announces that we are headed to Mexico. Good job Foobs. We make it back to Irvine with some more sing alongs. Mac and I hit up the NES for some more Nintendo and lose as usual. Marge even calls our bluff of playing Level 5 and declares that we are only playing (and getting romped on) in Level 3 and proceeds to give us some tips. In the meantime, Felix and Phillip have come back bearing gifts of Vanilla Coke. Felix takes over for me in Tennis and I join the table of George, Tim, and Phillip to some rounds of Big 2 and Hearts. Felix and Mac defeat Level 5, Fling rocks at Tennis, both in the physical and electronic worlds. Pres had a funny incident during Big 2 where since somehow my deck had lost 2 cards, I had hand drawn in the replacements, he threw out a flush only to be called on it by George that his hand drawn 2 of clubs was not a diamond. Phillip tried to play it off but it was too late, he had exposed half his hand already! Anyways, we enjoyed a few Vanilla cokes, and about 3 am, everyone went to grab a few z's. Mac was pretty much passed out so him and George shared the room again, Tim, Foobs, and Phillip jumped into the living room, and I got the couch since Reod said it was too short for him. W00 h00!
